San Francisco Moments

Let me be honest, 2015 was tough. So I was more than happy to ring in the new year, full of hope for better things to come.

One of my dear friends Allison lives in California and I have been wanting to visit her for a while. Since I had some time off around Christmas, I decided to spend New Years with her. Allison planned a trip to San Francisco for us since it had been a while since she had been to the city, and I am so glad she did.

We spent several days exploring, celebrating, and eating our way through San Francisco, and it was amazing. I loved every moment. Since Allison and I traveled the world together, we have a similar style of travel where we plan a loose schedule but leave room for ample spontaneous adventures.

San Francisco has a great public transportation system which we took full advantage of. We also enjoyed walking all around the city and averaged about nine miles of walking a day! Which meant we could eat as much of the fabulous food as we wanted. I enjoyed Japanese Ramen, Thai food, Indian food, and incredible brunch at Mission Beach Cafe.

Shortly before the holidays I also finally invested in a DSLR camera and I brought it along to get used to using it. Allison, a photography wiz, graciously showed me some tips and took some photos and video with my new camera as well.

I have declared 2016 the “year of new adventures” and it has already proven to be just that. Cheers to 2016 and all the new experiences life brings.

I adore the video – you look so happy! What a lovely way to celebrate the New Year. One of my goals for 2016 is to be a good steward of my finances so that I can spend money on what matters and the big things – like traveling and giving to others, not accumulating little things and just STUFF. So seeing your adventures inspires me to remain firm in this goal. May 2016 bring us so many new adventures!

Thank you for reading Yelena! I agree with you. Spending money on experiences, especially those shared with others can be so much more fulfilling than things. I hope your new year is filled with adventure! 🙂
